You may have heard this term recently in the news when describing radical Islamist-inspired attacks.
Lone Wolf
Wolves in general live in a pack and they take care of each other by defending the group and hunting for survival. A lone wolf may have been trained by someone in the pack, like other Muslims who have been radicalized, but they carry out the attack on their own. They may even pick the target themselves.
